Goudy Old Style
History and Anatomy of a Typeface
The Goudy letter type is a classic and common typeface that was developed in the early part of the 20th Century by Frederick Goudy. Goudy was influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement and designed many letter types, the most famous of which is the Old Style Goudy typeface.

I studied the history of the typeface and designed a book that detailed the history as well as the letter types themselves. I researched the styles of the Goudy period and made drawings and illustrations based on these styles and incorporated them in the layout and design of the book.
Hand-drawn design for the book cover was developed from pencil drawings then turned into vector illustrations.
This logo was inspired and developed on the basis of motifs from Goudy's period.
